MY JOB DESCRIPTION
My job for the last sixteen years has been to prove to students and their parents that standardized tests are not as hard as they appear to be, at all. My goal is to help each student reach his or her maximum potential with incredible efficiency and without stress. My tutoring style is very supportive and nurturing, along with very high standards.
WORK EXPERIENCE
My foray into tutoring started when a friend of mine from college who lives in NJ asked me to tutor her son. I have known all of her kids since birth so I jumped to do so. My friend wanted her son to have a love of words and she knew that I had edited books, done professional speechwriting, served as the keynote speaker at numerous conferences, and had been published regularly as an award-winning tech analyst. At the time I started this tutoring just for fun, I was working as an independent marketing and strategy consultant to startup companies worldwide. I found, to my surprise, that I LOVED this work and found it much more gratifying than any job I had ever done in the corporate world. I had worked at the Boston Consulting Group, Forrester Research, and Motorola, so I certainly had my share of corporate life.
I realized that this is my calling. Although I never had biological children of my own, I truly believe that you get to a certain age and feel that you have something to impart to younger generations. To me, the students I work with are my little ducklings. I am passionate about the work that I do and I consider it a great privilege to work with these young adults at a pivotal period in their lives that will affect their future careers and happiness.
Most importantly, I enjoy every single hour and day of the work I do, and I have an extremely strong track record in helping students jump their standardized tests scores quickly and by large amounts. In return I have the gratitude of many families.
