I work with students in eighth grade through high school as well as with college students and graduate students — all throughout the United States and internationally, I tutor only via video chat, but I have been doing so for over ten years, way before COVID and the Zoom phenomenon. The techniques that I have developed to explain standardized tests and the ways that I teach students are unique. I am a superior test-taker and highly analytical. What I have done is to reverse-engineer how I think about each test and that is what I teach. I complete every test question (from numerous real past tests) so that I have had time to think about how to best teach different types of questions for strategy, content and speed. In addition, I layer with these techniques a customized approach based on a student’s natural strengths and weaknesses as well as the way his/her mind operates in terms of logic flow. 

I help students write the compelling essays that help them get into their schools of choice. I advise on how to write persuasively with memorable anecdotes and the signaling of candidate qualities that top colleges and graduate schools look for as they read through numerous student essays in a short period of time. 

I help students write efficiently with a structured yet creative approach that minimizes downtime and maximizes productivity.

As a past member of the Harvard Club of Chicago  Board of Directors and a past alumni interviewer of many years for Harvard, I understand intimately the way that the most competitive schools in the world  think about candidates for admission.
